Quooker Boiling Water Tap Complete Guide

Quooker is a Dutch brand founded in 1970 and the UK's most recognisable consumer boiling water tap name. The Quooker system is unique in storing water at 110°C under pressure in a small vacuum-insulated tank, meaning it uses very little standby energy compared to competitors. Quooker Installation Requirements

The Quooker tank connects to a cold mains water supply and requires a 13-amp switched fused spur. Under-sink installation requires:

💡 A WRAS-approved plumber should carry out the water connection. The electrical spur should be installed or checked by a qualified electrician.

Quooker Filter Change (CUBE)

If your Quooker has a CUBE for chilled or sparkling water, the filter requires replacement annually or every 2,500 litres. The Quooker app will notify you when a change is due.

  1. Open the Quooker app and check filter status
  2. Turn off the CUBE via the app or power switch
  3. Locate the filter in the CUBE unit under the sink
  4. Twist anticlockwise to remove the old filter
  5. Insert new filter and twist clockwise to lock
  6. Reset via the Quooker app
  7. Flush 2-3 litres before use

Quooker Common Faults & Error Codes

Blinking red light

Most common: filter change due (CUBE models). Check Quooker app for details. Also indicates low CO2 (sparkling models).

No boiling water / cold water only

Check the childproof safety mechanism is correctly engaged — both push and turn is required. Also check tank has power and allow 20 minutes heat-up time from cold start.

Tap dripping

Usually a worn valve cartridge. Quooker cartridges are replaceable. Contact us for a service visit.

No sparkling water (CUBE)

Check CO2 cylinder level. A standard cylinder lasts approximately 60 litres of sparkling water. Replace cylinder and re-carbonate.

Knocking noise from tank

Normal — the pressurised tank expands and contracts during heating cycles. Persistent loud knocking may indicate limescale and requires a descale service.

Quooker Maintenance

Quooker recommends an annual service including descale, safety check and filter replacement (CUBE models). In hard water areas (above 200ppm), a six-monthly descale is advisable to maintain efficiency and prolong tank life.
